Terms

The short version: you are 18 or over, you treat people decently, and we keep almost nothing. The rest of this page is that, said properly.

You are 18 or over

This is not negotiable and it is not a checkbox we forget about.

  • Using MFChatter is you telling us you are an adult
  • If we learn otherwise we end the call and block the signals behind it
  • There is no account to appeal from, because there is no account

Calls may be screened

Automatically, by software, inside the call.

  • A frame may be checked for prohibited content as it passes through
  • A frame that is clear is discarded immediately and never stored
  • Nobody watches your call. A person only ever sees what a report brings them

What we will end a call for

Report anyone, any time

One button. It reaches a person.

  • Sexual content involving anyone under 18 — reported onward, always
  • Nudity or sexual content shown to someone who did not ask for it
  • Threats, harassment, or targeting someone because of who they are
  • Recording or redistributing someone else's call

A ban is placed against three separate signals at once, so it is not undone by clearing a cookie.

What you keep

Your call is yours. So is theirs.

  • You own what you say and show. We claim nothing in it
  • You need everyone's agreement before recording — the room says so out loud
  • A meeting link is yours to give out, and yours not to

What is written down

In a meeting

  • The call is recorded and transcribed so it can be summarised
  • Everyone in the room is told, in the room, before it starts
  • The recap goes out by email, and then the meeting is deleted — the recording, the transcript, the chat and the names

Afterwards: one email, then nothing.

In a party

  • No recording, no transcript, no summary, no email
  • Chat exists while the call does, so it can be reported, and then it is swept
  • A report keeps only what the report is about

Afterwards: nothing at all.

The unglamorous part

MFChatter is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available, that a call will connect, or that a recap will be perfect — a summary is written by a model and can be wrong, so read it before you rely on it.

We can end a call, refuse a connection or place a ban without warning where we believe someone is being harmed. We would rather be wrong that way round.

These terms can change. The version you are reading is the one that applies, and the date it changed is the date on this page.
